INTERDUBS configuration hierarchy.

When INTERDUBS needs to find a configuration value it does so by looking first at a local parameter. If it not finds a definition then it continues on the next broader level. See edit configuration values for details how to update the actual values. This page illustrates the hierarchy of configuration values.

Contents

personal configuration

Each admin can control some values and parameters under personal configuration (link is in the bottom of the page). These values -when set- override configuration values. Only few parameters can be set as a personal configuration. See Personal preferences for details.

login

Each configuration can be altered for a specific login. See the configuration for examples how to change these.

look

If you have to change paramaters repeatedly it probably is worth to define them in a look. A look can have as many or few parameters as you like. Configurations of the login level will override values that are defined on the look level.

Looks can also refer to other looks to be used before or after them.

Further more there are so called global looks that are read only templates that you can use.

Interdubs segment

Each company signing up for Interdubs gets their own segment. Usually your segment is all you can see and access. With the exception of configurations, where you can see also global configurations. To change a configuration value for your entire segment select the utils menu and then config. Segment wide parameters will only be used when there is nothing is set on the look or login level

global

Each existing configuration parameter has a global default. That's how a new segment starts out. You can not alter the global default values. But you can change them on the segment, look or login level.
