Home folder applications
Setting a home folder for an admin uses changes a couple of aspect of the INTERDUBS system for that admin user:
quickReel
All folders inside of the home folder will be displayed in a selection menu in
quickReel
Selecting one of these sub folders will automatically display all clips contained within that sub folder.
If a home folder is set then folders in REEL_SOURCES -that are usually used in this way- will be ignored.
INTERDUBS will only find files below the home folder will be used in
quickReel searches
New logins
When a new login is created via the
add login
screen, then the default is create the corresponding folder inside of the home folder for that admin. This option can be disabled though.
Another aspect of new folders are folder templates. Each new folder assigned to a login can be derived from a Template.
Assigning a home folder
An existing folder can be assigned to one or many admin users.
Self assignment
Go to the desired home folder by navigating to it under the files tab. Then open the
folder edit
screen and click on
set home folder
Any previous choice will be overwritten, since an admin login can only have one home folder.
Home folder reset
On the
personal preferences
screen reachable via the footer of each page, there is a
reset home folder
option that will clear the home folder of the user.
Assignment by root admin
A root admin can assign folders to other users: Navigate to th folder that should be used. The function is under the
screen. A root admin can access the
asign folder as home folder for other users
function. After selecting it a list of all admin users will be presented. On this list the root admin can assign as many admins to this home folder as desired.
