Zip Files

A zip file is an archive file that contains files and folders. INTERDUBS uses this format in multiple ways.

Download multiple files

A web browser can only download one file. When a client or admin likes to download multiple files then the system often generates a zip file of all requested files and downloads this. Clicking on a zip file on your computer will expand the file.

listing

INTERDUBS can list the contents of a zip file. This feature is available for admins via the

 list zip content

feature. As an admin you can expand the file on the next screen (see below).

list zip anchor text

In the client interface a zip file can be listed via the

list zip contents

link that gets displayed. You can change this text via the configuration called

list zip anchor text

If the configuration contains an empty string then INTERDUBS will NOT list zip contents.

Clicking on the name or icon usually lists the zip file content. Is the beforementioned configuration empty, then these actions will cause a download of the zip file.

expansion

In the admin interface the content of the zip file can be expanded. First go again to

 list zip content

and then click on

expand all files of this zip into folder

This will expand the file into the current folder. Since the zip expansion uses the ftp gateway it might take a little while before the files appear on the system.
