Nuke folder

The INTERDUBS

 nuke files in folder

function is a special variation of a delete command.

Access

It is accessible via the

 edit folder

screen.

Clicking on it is harmless: it will display a screen first that will list all files that would be affected. Only root admins can then actually execute it.

Purpose

When INTERDUBS creates a reel it does copy the clips from the source into the actual reel folder. This has the benefit that the clip in the reel can be altered like any other listing.

The nuke files function is helpful when you like to get rid of all clips inside of a given folder. Imagine you did have a folder for a director inside of /REEL_SOURCES. That director decided to go back to herding sheep in the outback of australia. If your objective is to remove all his clips also inside of reels you created then you can go to his folder and click on

 edit folder

from there pick

 nuke files in folder

INTERDUBS will locate all copies of the clips inside of that folder. It does so by content. So you could have uploaded clips by different means, the names can be changed etc: the system still will find them.

There is a red confirmation button on that screen. When you click this then all the affected files will be removed.

Only files

The nuke files function only removes files. It ignores folders and will also leave the folder in the system.
