Client facing network

As of June 28 INTERDUBS allows delivery of data to clients by two different methods:

delivery via INTERDUBS

This method is the default and the one directly out of our data centers. This method is the same then it was before

delivery via EdgeCast

When you set the configuration to this value then the EdgeCast Content Delivery Network will be used to deliver the content to your clients. See [1] for an introduction.


INTERDUBS vs CDN

Both methods have benefits. To put it in a simple way the CDN can have advantages when you provide content to a large audience. Also the impact of geographic distance can be mitigated.

Current CDN is in testing. Please let us know how you experience it.


cases with no CDN

Currently CDN will automatically not be active in these cases: 

run encrypted links (https)
for files larger than 100 MB
have downloads disabled
