Replace media

Interdubs stores a various amount of Meta Data with the actual file. Sometimes it can be desired to just replace the actual file, but leave all other information the way it is. This way clients can continue to use the links that they are used to.

Select the edit for the file and the choose the replace media function.

You can upload a new file that will become the media of the interdubs file that you did choose. This can be helpful if you like to exchange versions of media or like to correct a mistake in the media file while you like to avoid entering the meta data again.

The following information will automatically be updated during by the replace media update:

 modification time
 file size 
 length of clip
 resolution for images and clips
 media type

Other information will be left as they had been. For instance:

 icon image
 file name 
 comments 
 tags
 notes
 hidden status
