Manually adding clip information

From Wikanual

After the upload INTERDUBS looks at the file extension of the new file. If the extension indicates that the file is a clip (quicktime, mp4, wmv etc) then it will extract an image file and detect the resolution and length of the clip.

In some very rare cases the INTERDUBS system might not be able to interpret the clip information. The thumbnail will be a generic one for the file type. And the resolution and length information might be missing as well.

You can manually add this information:

thumbnail

You can upload an image from your computer to be used as a thumbnail.

Go to the

 edit file

screen. There you will find the

upload file to be used as icon

function. After clicking this you can upload a jpg, png or gif that the system will use as the icon.

Resolution

For some features and presentation modes INTERDUBS needs to know how large the clip is. You can add this information also via the

 edit file

screen. Look for the

x
y

they will be most likely zero in the case of a format that could not be understood.

Length

If you serve a clip in a quickReel then the system will need to know about the length of the clip so that it knows when to load the next clip. The length exists twice. You can enter the same value (like 30 for a 30 second clip) in both windows for

length text used by display
length in seconds

(the length in seconds is what the system uses to determine the play length. It can contain fractions. The display length could be something like 0:30 etc)
